Butterflies, Journey Sticks & Creative Play

Sunday, July 27th, at 3pm in the courtyard between Cafe Yen and Kennett School of Gymnastics

This July, let’s celebrate the magic of the natural world with a hands-on, joy-filled workshop designed for curious young creators! Inspired by the beauty of butterflies, the serenity of the outdoors, and the colors of imagination, this session invites children to explore and craft with heart and intention.

We’ll dive into:

Butterfly Magic: Painting vibrant butterfly scenes with watercolor palettes, learning about symmetry, color, and transformation.
Journey Sticks: A nature-inspired ritual where children will create their own “magic journey sticks,” using found natural materials, beads, and threads to tell a story of exploration and wonder.

This workshop is about more than art—it’s about connection: to self, to others, and to the earth. Expect messy hands, full hearts, and a creative space filled with laughter, color, and discovery.

This workshop is perfect for curious, creative kids ages 3-9 who love to make and explore. Please dress littles in clothing and shoes that will allow them to get their hands dirty and have some fun. This class will be outside if weather permits. Bring your sunscreen and a hat!

Little Makers at Margot's is a monthly collaboration between Margot's Mercantile and BeSpace Creativity Studio at Café Yen dedicated to hands-on creative exploration for children and families. Our sessions emphasize process-based learning, fostering self-expression and creativity in a welcoming, community-centered environment.

About BeSpace: Founded by Brooke Desir, an educator with over 25 years of experience, BeSpace Creativity Studio is committed to fostering creativity and lifelong learning through process-based exploration, art making, and play. Our mission aligns with Margot’s Mercantile’s dedication to providing joyful, high-quality experiences for families.

Each ticket will include one beverage* from Cafe Yen (*limited drink menu), and one Dino Bar from Margot's Mercantile.

Caregivers are required to attend. Each ticket admits one child and caregiver.
